About 1-day focused workshops -For Frontline, Community and Health Workers
Attend our 1-day workshops to grow your knowledge of the complexities and nuances of domestic and family violence within different contexts.
Learners attending these workshops need to have previously attended any 2-day DV-alert workshops.
About the workshop:
Understand LGBTQ+ communities, the discrimination LGBTQ+ communities have experienced and continue to experience and how this shapes the drivers of domestic and family violence in LGBTQ+ communities.
Recognise domestic and family violence as it presents in LGBTQ+ clients, including common dynamics, tactics and barriers to help-seeking.
Respond in ways that are safe, affirming and trauma-informed, including practical considerations for immediate support and safety planning.
Refer to LGBTQ+ inclusive services and supports while working with your client’s preferences and safety needs.
Enhance your skills with other 1-day focused workshops available that you can attend to enhance your knowledge and skills, including: * Men Who Use Violence *First Nations * Women With Disability *Gendered Violence in Diverse Communities *Multicultural
Nationally recognised training
Once each of the components of the DV-alert Assessment Pathway have been completed you can enrol in the Assessment session. After successful completion of the assessments, you will achieve a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.
Cost
It is free for frontline workers.
Financial support is also offered for staff backfill for attendance of the 2-Day Foundation workshops and 1-day focused workshops and help with travel and accommodation is available in some cases. Terms and conditions apply. Go to DV-alert Homepage for more information.
Eligibility:
