Additional Information

MHFA teaches participants how to assist, listen and respond to people who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Please note it is an educational setting, not therapy. That being said it is quite normal for people to become distressed during some content and your highly skilled Lifeline facilitator will be there to guide and support you through the process.

Blended Online MHFA Community workshop includes two course components: –

• Course component 1 is self-paced interactive eLearning (5-7 hours via the MHFA Australia website)

• Course component 2 covers two Instructor-led video conferencing sessions (2 x 2.5 hour Microsoft Teams sessions)

For the virtual sessions you will need access to a computer/laptop with an internet connection, a camera, microphone and speakers. We will send a Teams link to you once you are registered with MHFA. Please familiarise yourself with Teams and do a test call before attending to ensure that we start and finish on time. Tablets/phones are not recommended as they do not support some Microsoft Teams features and they will make things harder for you while you’re doing your online learning and participating in the video call.
