About First Nations Workshop

This workshop is for frontline workers to learn how to recognise the signs of family violence, respond appropriately, and refer to support services relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. It covers the nature and scope, patterns and impacts of family violence, what to consider for diverse groups, communication skills, safety planning, referral pathways and more.

This workshop provides practical knowledge and skills in implementing the Recognise, Respond and Refer Model © in a frontline worker context and is Nationally recognised training.

RESPOND confidently
REFER appropriately

This workshop is for learners working in rural and remote areas (RA3 to 5), this 2-day accredited workshop includes assessment towards a Statement of Attainment for CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.

Eligibility:
Be a front-line worker or student studying in the field
Be aged 18+

Cost
It is free for frontline workers, health workers, students studying frontline worker roles.
Financial support is also offered for staff backfill for attendance of the 2-Day Foundation workshops and 1-day focused workshops and help with travel and accommodation is available in some cases.
