Gunnedah | DV-alert 1-day Men Who Use Violence Focused Workshop

September 6 @ 9:00 am 5:00 pm

Further training for frontline workers who have completed any 2-day DV-alert workshop, this workshop focuses on the drivers of men’s use of violence and how to take actions that will lower the risk these men present to their partners and children. Frontline workers will learn how to Recognise, Respond and Refer appropriately and with care. Note that you will not learn counselling, therapy or behaviour change skills in this 1-day workshop.

About Men who Use Violence
• Assist people who encounter instances of males who use violence in their capacity as frontline workers
• Select approaches that lower the risk these men present to their partners and children
• Avoid actions which may raise the levels of danger these men may present to their partners and children

Attend these 1-day workshops to grow your knowledge of the complexities and nuances of domestic and family violence within different contexts.

Learners attending these workshops need to have previously attended any 2-day DV-alert workshop or completed an accredited online DV-alert course as these workshops build on the DV-alert foundational learning.

It is free for frontline workers.

Financial support is also offered for staff backfill for attendance of the 2-Day Foundation workshops and 1-day focused workshops, and help with travel and accommodation is available in some cases.
