VIRTUAL_DV-alert Men Who Use Violence Workshop

About 1-day focused workshops
Attend our 1-day workshops to grow your knowledge of the complexities and nuances of domestic and family violence within different contexts.
Learners attending these workshops need to have previously attended any 2-day DV-alert workshops.

• Assist people who encounter instances of males who use violence in their capacity as frontline workers
• Select approaches that lower the risk these men present to their partners and children
• Avoid actions which may raise the levels of danger these men may present to their partners and children

Further training for frontline workers who have completed any 2-day DV-alert workshop, this workshop focuses on the drivers of men’s use of violence and how to take actions that will lower the risk these men present to their partners and children. Frontline workers will learn how to Recognize, Respond and Refer appropriately and with care. Note that you will not learn counselling, therapy or behavior change skills in this 1-day workshop.

Enhance your skills with other 1-day focused workshops
There are a range of other 1-day workshops available that you can attend to enhance your knowledge and skills, including:

Nationally recognised training
Once each of the components of the DV-alert Assessment Pathway have been completed you can enrol in the Assessment session. After successful completion of the assessments, you will achieve a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence.

Cost
It is free for frontline workers.
Financial support is also offered for staff backfill for attendance of the 2-Day Foundation workshops and 1-day focused workshops and help with travel and accommodation is available in some cases.

Eligibility:
